Child Health and Nutrition (CHN) Research in Asia and the Pacific is a component of the Global Forum for Health Research - OSLO CHILD HEALTH RESEARCH CENTER's regional assessments in the developing world. The Asia-Pacific Regional Assessment is one of a three-continent (Africa,Central and Latin America, and Asia and the Pacific) review using available data and resources to describe the progress and status of child health and nutrition, identify various stakeholders in CHN and how research has contributed to this condition.
Since 2001 OCHRC is promoting and funding priority context-specific and resource-sensitive researches to address the ever growing burden of childhood diseases in developing countries. Since conception OCHRC has funded nine research projects under the four requests for proposals (RFPs). Through an open process of advertisement and competitive selection, individuals or institutions from low and middle income countries are selected to carry out OCHRC’s research interests. OCHRC provides administrative oversight to the projects, assuring that the research are systematically evaluated, and that partners and broader global audiences are kept informed through dissemination of information.
